Description of instrument

This proposal is for a new multi-media Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) for Mattawa Renewable Power Corporation as general partner for and on behalf of Petawawa Biofuel LP, an anaerobic digester facility in Southgate, Ontario.

The facility will use organic residuals from source separated organics, commercial, industrial food waste materials and a number of blend of agricultural materials such as silage, tover, culled material from vegetable and tuber crops and animal manure to produce renewable natural gas.

Approval is sought for:

  • six (6) odour control equipment,
  • a power co-generator,
  • a biogas upgrader,
  • a flare and
  • two (2) pressure release valves.

Emissions to the atmosphere include carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and methane.
