Description of instrument
This proposal is for an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (Waste Disposal Sites) No. 6505-7DHQCT (Kirchmeier Farms Inc.for the processing, use and operation of organic off-farm material which will be co-digested in the existing farm based anaerobic digester.
The anaerobic digester already receives 5000 cubic meters per year liquid and 5000 cubic meters per year solid waste of organic and agricultural substrates, currently approved under ECA No. 6505-7DHQCT. The total area of the site is 103.5 square meters and maximum daily amount of waste which may be received at the site is 150 cubic meters.
The amendment includes changing the condition 21 of the current ECA to receive the total feedstock capacity of 10,000 tons per year combined solid/liquid. Currently it's described as 5,000 tons per year liquid and 5,000 tons per year solid to a maximum total capacity of 10,000 tons per year (Condition 21 of ECA).
Also, the amendment includes correcting the description of one of the materials received in plant from “solid” to “liquid” (Condition 20 of ECA). This material will be described as an organic waste matter derived from the production of microbial fermentation of non-toxigenic, non-pathogenic micro-organisms.
The site is to serve the Province of Ontario and operates Monday to Saturday 7 am to 6 pm.
