ARA Licence No. 625835 was issued on October 5, 2022 to VicDom Sand and Gravel (Ontario) Limited for a above water licence, subject to conditions specified on Schedule A under the ARA.
The licensed area is 18.84 hectares in size and allows extraction of aggregate from a pit above the water table. The tonnage condition specifies a maximum of 500,000 tonnes of aggregate to be removed from the site in any calendar year. The area to be extracted is 15.05 hectares in size.

Effects of consultation
Two (2) comments were received in response to the Environmental Registry of Ontario notice. One was a copy of an objection received through the ARA consultation process, and the other was not specific to this application.
Seven (7) objections were received in response to the ARA consultation process. The concerns raised included:
- site plan issues
- zoning/OP amendment
- noise
- dust
- groundwater monitoring
- concurrent operations of two adjacent ARA sites
The applicant worked to address these objections by providing additional information and through revisions to the site plan. All objections have been addressed.

1. Prepare your application

Description of instrument
VicDom Sand and Gravel (Ontario) Limited has applied for a Category 3, Class “A” licence under the Aggregate Resources Act to excavate aggregate from above the water table. This application is for the establishment of a new pit 18.89 hectares in size with an extraction area of 15.1 hectares. The annual tonnage condition applied for is 500,000 tonnes.

To be considered as a formal objector, individuals need to contact the MNRF staff member specified in this notice to determine how to submit an objection.
Other public consultation opportunities
As specified in the Aggregate Resources Act, written notice concerning this application was delivered to landowners within 120 metres of the proposed licensed boundary; an information sign, giving notice to the public of this application, was erected at the proposed site; and a Notice of Application appeared in the local paper, the Uxbridge Times on November 17, 2016. A public information session is being held on December 10, 2016 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Vicdom Sand & Gravel Main Office, 3444 Brock Road North, Uxbridge.
This application is being circulated within the MNRF Aurora District office for review. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Township of Uxbridge, the Regional Municipality of Durham, the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and the Toronto Region Conservation Authority for comment.
