Original proposal
Proposal details
Description of instrument
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Industrial Sewage Works) for Wallenstein Feed & Supply Ltd., for an on-site pretreatment system and an engineered wetland, located at 7307 Line 86, Wallenstein, Ontario.
This application is for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of process water (boiler blowdown, reverse osmosis reject steam and water softener regeneration water, filter media backwash, and polisher backwash) and stormwater runoff.
The pretreatment system will consist of a 10,000 litre precast two compartment tank, equipped with effluent filter, and will discharge via gravity to engineered wetland. The pH adjustment system will be located inside the building and sulphuric acid will be used for pH adjustment.
An engineered wetland will consist of two (2) cells and receive all the process streams and surface drainage and provide adequate attenuation of the 2, 5 and 100 year storm events with a normal level of water quality control.
The effluent from the facility is expected to meet Grand River Conservation Authority quality objectives.
