Effects of consultation

One comment was received in response to the Environmental Registry notice.

One hundred twenty-nine (129) objections were received during the Aggregate Resources Act consultation process. Public and agency concerns were related to the potential impact that the proposed aggregate operation would have on areas including traffic and haul routes, noise and dust, ground water impacts, impacts to agricultural land, loss of property value and impacts on enjoyment of property.

The applicant provided additional information and revised site plans, however was not successful in resolving all objections raised. The application was referred to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal for a hearing. The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal directed the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry to issue the licence subject to the site plans and conditions identified in the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal’s decision (June 25, 2020 File No. MM170099).
