Decision details

Amendments to the  Ontario Water Resources Act (OWRA) made on April 1, 2020 removed the need for a permit to take water for the construction or operation of a dam for the purposes of generating electricity.

This activity no longer requires a permit and none was issued.

The ministry advised the applicant that no permit was required on August 26, 2020.

This proposal is a renewal of permit to take water 1143-8CTL7K for power generation purposes. Water will be taken from one (1) river to generate power at the Wawatay Generating Station. Details of the water taking are as follows:
