Effets de la consultation
Comments relevant to the water taking proposal were considered as part of the review of the application. The main concern raised was regarding a 1-meter drop in water levels in the sand pit, which was originally requested in the application submitted on July 18, 2022. There was concern that lowering the water level could have negative impacts to other watercourses in surrounding areas, including wetlands.
The applicant later withdrew this proposal to lower water levels.
Based on the technical review, the ministry does not anticipate negative impacts to the natural environment. The permit contains conditions to protect surface water features downstream of the sand pit.
