Détails de la proposition

Description of instrument

This proposal is to amend Environmental Compliance Approval (WDS - transfer/processing) No. 8197-6NYJXP issued to GFL Environmental Inc. The facility is located at 17335 Allaire Road, (Moose Creek) North Stormont, Ontario on a site 9 hectares in area. The facility screens and does bioremediation of non-hazardous petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soils, transfers non-hazardous impacted soils and shreds wood waste recovered from contaminated soils.

Approval is sought for addition of the following waste for the transfer station:

  • Liquid industrial waste (251-254 inclusive) and hazardous liquid wastes (111-114 inclusive, 121-123 inclusive, 131-135 inclusive, 141-150 inclusive, 211-213 inclusive, 221, 222, 231-233 inclusive, 241, 242, 261-270 inclusive, 281, 282 and 331);
  • Non-hazardous solid industrial waste and hazardous waste (111-114 inclusive, 121-123 inclusive, 131-135 inclusive, 141-150 inclusive, 211-213 inclusive, 221, 222, 231-233 inclusive, 241, 242, 261-270 inclusive, 281 and 282).

Maximum liquid waste received daily would be 300,000 cubic metres; maximum hazardous waste received daily would be 40 tonnes and maximum non-hazardous solid industrial waste would be 1,000 tonnes.

The maximum on-site storage capacity for the transfer facility would be 380,000 litres of liquid industrial and hazardous waste and a maximum of 1,540 tonnes of solid waste.

The facility will serve Ontario, Quebec and State of New York and the operating times of 24 hours per day, 365 days a year remain unchanged.
