INVISTA (Canada) Company - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 7602-9Y7PRX with Limited Operational Flexibility for INVISTA (Canada) Company, a multi-product chemical manufacturing facility, located in Maitland, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• boilers
• generators
• storage tanks
• ventilation stacks
• exhaust fans
• welding stations

The amendment includes the installation of a new boiler to replace the current boiler 5, and updates to the facility's production limit.

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• ammonia
• hexamethylenediamine
• nitrogen oxides
• benzene
• hydrogen
• particulate matter
• nickel
• carbon monoxide

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
