As per the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C , limiting global warming to 1.5°C compared to 2°C could go hand in hand with ensuring a more sustainable and equitable society for Ontarians and the rest of the world. Eliminating cap and trade, and fighting a carbon tax take two of the primary tools of enforcement out of the ability to reduce carbon emissions. The Ontario government needs to implement a serious plan to reduce carbon emissions, and nothing in this act, nor any statements from the government indicate they have any plan to do so.
