The proper environmental assessments have not been done for this project. The proposed location is on sandy beach, a floodplain, which has been used as a parking lot for decades. There will be petrochemical residues, undoubtedly, in the water pumped out. Where will that water be taken? Can it safely be pumped into the lake? To date, no proper Environmental Impact Study has been done, despite it being required in the Official Plan.
