As MPP for Thunder Bay…

As MPP for Thunder Bay-Superior North, I have serious concerns about the mineral exploration practices of Transition Metals Corporation, and the lack of public notification and consideration shown to adjacent landowners regarding exploration in the immediate area.

As MPP, I will demand that Transition Metals be immediately more transparent about their activities in the area. The Gilbride Road area of Hawkeye Lake- Burks Lake-One Island Lake is already a zone of contention because of highly unpopular aggregate pit activity. Many constituents have brought this matter to the attention of my MPP office, and I have asked for better communications from Transition Metals, and a response from the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines regarding the One Island Lake proposal. I was additonally concerned to find yesterday that Transition Metals has no working email or telephone number. This is not the mark of a responsible or accountable operation.
