The City of Welland has recently finalized zoning for lands east of this industrial facility, located at 401 Canal Bank Street, to include residential and institutional uses and is in the process of reviewing applications for Official Plan and Zoning By-law changes, as well as a Draft Plan of Subdivision, for lands to the north-west (475-635 Canal Bank Street) to include residential and institutional uses. An Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment, and Draft Plan of Subdivision for the lands to the east was approved on October 6, 2020. Class 4 designation has been approved by Council as part of the draft plan approval and will be incorporated into the subdivision agreement. The City would like to verify that the proposed ECA amendment has considered these recent developments.
