To protect our land, for future generations, I am against this mining and any exploration. I am a Bearskin Lake First Nation member and this land is not for use to exploit and pollute at the expense of the Indigenous people that live there. Not only for environmental and spiritual reasons, our people are caretakers and protectors of the land, but also any monetary gains from mining will not be given to our people. There is no benefit or profit for our people for the proposed mining. Clean water is already scarce and a struggle to keep in every home in Bearskin Lake, I fear for our children and their children if mining pollutes our waters. The government forced us on this land and we have a right to oppose this disruption to the ecosystem and ancestral lands. Stop mining on Native Land.
