I reside in the immediate area near the Lennox Generating Station. I have been treated with chronic bronchial asthma all my life. The increase in the pollutants into the air I breathe is, in my opinion, a heightened, direct attack on my health and well-being by your company’s operations. Furthermore, there is ample scientific evidence provided by multi-year research studies that indicate a direct relationship between the burning of fossil fuels, such as natural gas, with the destructive impacts of climate change; impacts that are increasing and threatening the existence to all life on our planet. The licensed operator should be aware of this and the repercussions - societal, ethical and legal - that would arise from further adding to the emissions of greenhouse gases from your operations. Therefore not only should the Lennox Generating Station refrain from increasing the burning of fossil fuels, but it’s management should consider other forms of energy that would not produce toxic emissions. The idea of steam generated from deep well (10k) geothermal wells has become much more economical due to resent plasma drill technological developments . I strongly urge this company to pursue this approach to generating electricity and not burn more natural gas.
