I believe that this is not a suitable location for a permanent Hot Asphalt Plant for a multitude of reasons.
For one, the proximity to the downtown core, as well as residential homes, is far too close.
I do a lot of my shopping, and encourage tourism here because of its clean, quiet atmosphere. I also encourage residential growth within Napanee, for the same reasons, quiet, clean, beautiful small town with a ton of amenities, shops, and restaurants. Over the last year, I have had multiple sellers with the reason being trying to get away from an Asphalt plant; and I have had a lot of buyers refuse to buy within a certain proximity of the plant location because of concerns for sounds, ground vibrations, environmental concerns, smells and increased traffic of heavy trucks.

I have had the opportunity to live for one week on Palace Rd in July/August 2022, and the increase of traffic along this road, all heavy truck traffic, was enough to ruin my quiet enjoyment of living and working from home. Not only for the increased noise, but also for the lack of ease of travel on that stretch.

Other factors that contribute to why I believe this is an unsuitable location for the Hot Asphalt Plant, are the increased toxins. When my son goes to school, it will be in too close proximity to this plant, and as we know, the increase in toxins are in effect when referring to asphalt. I refuse to expose my son to unnecessary toxins, therefore, I am looking out of county for alternate schooling as a backup.
The location is also within the watershed, which raises a lot of concerns environmentally.
There are other locations where a Hot Asphalt Plant would be well suited, including in the Napanee Industrial Park, where there are many acres of land available to be acquired.

Lastly, it may not be enough of a "good reason" but the stigma this will put over such a beautiful natural town would be devastating for businesses, tourism, residents and more.
