A number of residents within our region have made a number of comments to the Ministry of the Environment and is on record to a number of representatives. Our contention is that all raw sewage from Ontario should be taken to the treatment plant in Pembroke, Ontario for processing. A safety measure to avoid contamination of surface water and ground water, which poses a significant health threat and environmental hazards. We are also requesting that raw sewage from the province of Quebec remains in Quebec and is not hauled to the Whitewater Region for dumping.
