Having worked with environmental conservation organisations in this past, I'm well familiar with the situation of our indigenous butternut trees. Although integral to the ecosystems in which they are found, they are nevertheless a fragile species. Many saplings do not reach maturity on account of bugs and and other pests, as well as disease. The ones that do are of hardy stock, and must not be wasted. Please do not approve this proposal. If Bellmere wants to expand, tell them to find another way. These precious trees cannot be easily replaced!
