We are concerned that the steam and whatever substances are sent airborne with the steam from the stack would come over to our office building across the street. How do we know where the emissions from the stack will end up? Will they be harmful or cause injury or damage?
The consultant reports do not shed light on this. It is of deep concern - how can we operate offices when we do not know what the effect of the escape of steam (and whatever substances it contains) is going to drift with the wind into our building's air intake systems? Are there potential contaminants that are small enough to pass from the stack and into our HVAC? How will these affect office workers and in what quantities are they hazardous to health? Could these contribute to "sick building syndrome"?
