Hello,
I grew up on Munro lake, spending my summers basking in the sun and bathing in the fresh waters!
Non permanent campers (camp ground and 21 day campers) have threatened the quality of the lake as long as I can remember. A general disrespect for nature - duping garbage and excrement inappropriately - as well as significant noise pollution that threaten the quiet lifestyle that permanent cottagers support. The cottagers association has been diligent in protecting and monitoring the water quality and wildlife (trout, loons, etc) as the sole overseers since the ministry cut its water testing program. Overall, the longstanding trend continues to be seen - water at the public beach have the highest bacterial count of the entire lake. This threatens aquatic life as well as human health.
We were notified on very short notice that this request for subdividing was made which left concerned parties very little time to express their opinions. This request is an attempt by an individual for monetary profit at the cost of the local environment.
Please support us in protecting the natural habitat of Munro Lake by refusing this subdivision request.
