I am submitting my comment to OPPOSE the expansion of ST Helens to "Contaminant emissions to the
atmosphere include chlorine dioxide, lactic acid, nitrogen oxides, noise, and odour". This business
exists in a neighborhood, and RIGHT BESIDE A PARK!
I don't think emitting any additional emissions beside a community park, with a brand new splash
pad for children is a good idea. As you can see from YOUR records over the summer the community in
numbers made many complaints about the smell of this facility in our neighborhood, allowing
expansion which had included ADDITIONAL ODOUR is counter intuitive. Did you know that our park has
been offered additional "fragrant bushes" in order to counteract the terrible smells... how about
we try harder then that? Fragrant bushes can't fix this problem!
Additionally our neighborhood has been identified as one of the highest for asthma and some cancer
rates. How does it make any sense to add additional industry and emissions to this area? We don't'
need additional trucks, larger slaughter houses / packaging facilities, we need green space, we
need trees, we need to heal.
