Stakeholders have also been given no information at all on the quality of site plan rehabilitation proposed for the amalgamated site and proposed applications to vary their site licences. How progressive and final rehabilitation plans are carried out can greatly impact a community, especially on a site this size and one that is surrounded by community settlement and rural residential areas. There are ‘sensitive receptors’ as you call them surrounding the site, as these areas are where members of our community sleep, go to school and daycare, and reside in nursing homes and our local hospital. Our community deserves a better future than these scanty documents seem to suggest. Please be sure that we get that.
