Why consultation isn't required
This notice is for your information. The Environmental Bill of Rights does not require this notice to be placed on the Environmental Registry; however, Section 6 of the Act does allow the Environmental Registry to be used to share information about the environment with the public.
Bulletin details
Alamos Gold Incorporated has notified the Director of proposed material changes to its Island Gold Mine, as required under the Mining Act. This will require a certified Closure Plan Amendment to be filed by Alamos Gold Incorporated. Addressing the rehabilitation measures for the mine to be implemented upon the eventual closure of Alamos Gold Incorporated, Island Gold Mine. The amended plan must include any new or revised rehabilitation measures and any new costs associated with the proposed changes.
The following are the major components that the Closure Plan Amendment as proposed by Alamos Gold Incorporated must address:
- A new shaft and associated surface infrastructure, Mill Expansion, Paste Backfill Plant, operation of a proposed borrow source, a new water treatment facility, and access roads and onsite power infrastructure.
