Our golf club has been hosting annual public meetings since 2012 as per Regulation 63/09. After the 9th meeting this past October we have had a total of 3 people in attendance.

Good to see that the annual pesticide meeting (and advertising for it) are proposed to be dropped.
We have had only 2 people show over the years, and they were only there to support us.

I am writing in support of ending the use of neonicotinoid insecticides.
Federal and provincial governments share responsibility for regulating pesticides, but I’m concerned that neither is stepping up to adequately respond to the threat neonics pose to biodiversity.

Please consider the role that the SPMAO provides the pest control industry in Ontario.
1. Duplicating the role of the federal PMRA is wasteful on many levels.
2. Recertification on a continuing ed program keeps the industry current, effective.

We held our IPM Meeting in late November and nobody showed up to the meeting. A huge waste of money and resources to prepare for a meeting which had zero attendance.
Neonicotinoids and other harmful pesticides should be banned. More than 30 economically important food crops in Ontario rely on insect pollination (U of Guelph). Worldwide, 1/3 of our food is pollinated by insects. Not to mention, THE WHOLE ECOSYSTEM WILL BE KNOCKED OUT without insects.

It is ludicrous to suggest that one government appointed "Director" can make decisions about which pesticides should be added to the cosmetic ban acceptance list. That is an invitation to corruption, ignorance and environmental disaster.

We have come this far in regulating poisons in our soil, water, atmosphere. We need to regulate even more. Why are we going BACKWARDS !!
Unbelievable. The Ford government is not looking after the people and our environment.
The Ontario government is proposing that cemeteries be exempt from the Cosmetic ban.
I presume this means that they would be able to apply restricted pesticides in order to get that "perfect" lawn look.
