Effects of consultation

One comment was received in response to the Environmental Registry notice from the County of Oxford and two written comments were also received. The comments raised the following concerns: Potential risk to nearby wells, lack of analysis to support increase of taking, lack of analysis to support a proposed change to the elevation to which the water level in the west quarry could be lowered, water taking will interfere with the Environmental Assessment that is being conducted in support of a proposed landfill at the property, aquifers are going to dry, monitoring sites are being removed from the monitoring program, lack of consultation, concerns if the water taking is sustainable.

The proponent and ministry provided additional information to the commenters and included conditions on the Permit to address potential impacts to neighboring wells, elevation of west quarry and monitoring requirements.

A decision was made to proceed with the approval of this proposal.
