Original proposal
Proposal details
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (waste disposal site processing) for the Recycling 101 Ltd. facility in the northern portion of an 0.433 hectare (ha) property located at 119-123 Princess Street in Hamilton, ON, L8L 8B7. The unit area to be leased by Recycling 101 covers approximately 4,552 square meters (m2) (49,000 square feet) of a building that has a total floor area of approximately 4,552 m2 (49,000 sq. ft.).
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and other similar metal bearing non-hazardous, non-putrescible wastes will be received from trucks and tractor-trailers at docks at the northwest side of the building. The WEEE material will be sorted with intact hazardous components, removed and securely packaged for shipment to downstream partners. Non-shreddable materials (e.g. CRT TVs) will be manually disassembled into components for sale or further processing by downstream partners. Shreddable materials such as metal and plastic will be mechanically processed and separated into saleable commodities.
This proposal is for the following
- The receipt, processing and transfer of 100 tonnes per day of solid waste (WEEE) from industrial, commercial and institutional (IC&I) generators in North America
- A maximum waste storage quantity of 750 tonnes at any one time
- Shipping and receiving hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and
- Operating hours from 7 a.m. to 12 midnight from Monday to Friday, and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This site is to serve the Province of Ontario.
