I am strongly opposed to the Get It Done Act, because there has been inadequate consultation with the public. And because it will allow developers to build anywhere, including on our vital wetlands, and even on prime agricultural land.

- Schedule 1 needs to be removed from Bill 162
- Schedule 5 needs to be removed from Bill 162
- Schedule 3, The amendments authorizing urban boundary expansions should be removed.

Bill 162 promotes expensive and unnecessary suburban sprawl. What it doesn't do is direct limited housing construction resources and dollars to build the various types of affordable housing Ontarians need where they live.

The original Region of Waterloo Official Plan, approved in August 2022 should be restored. Does the countless hours of work by staff at all levels of municipal government as well as ubmissions by citizens mean anything?

I am strongly opposed to the amendment in Bill 162, which allow expropriation without environmental assessment and without proof that the expropriation in necessary, and I want Schedule 1 to be removed from Bill 162. In Waterloo Region expropriation of the farms of 7 families has been threatened.

I urge that the official plan adjustments that are being proposed and therefore opening farmland and greenfields for development be denied. Keep farmland as farmland. Protect the existing water supply .
I am writing to express my concern about the proposed amendments to the Regional Official Plan for Waterloo Region, which would allow for the conversion of farmland in the Regional Recharge Area to permit residential and/or industrial development.

Please know that the environmental impact is a priority for our future. The economic drivers are important but must not exceed the importance of consideration for our environment.
This is true for many reasons.

I am very disturbed about the recent move to buy farmland for development. This goes against the ROP that was agreed upon less than two years ago. It was a progressive plan, which looked to the future of our environment and wellness of our citizens.

We rely on ground water and the grand river. These water sources must be protected.
