DO NOT have bear hunting or any kind of hunting allowed. It is inhumane and frankly a very stupid thing to have. We have encroached on the animals territory since the beginning, taken away their very avenue of survival and there is no justification for this hunt.

Please discontinue the spring bear hunt, as it leads to the orphaning of bear cubs and does little to stop the bears entering human communities. Baiting and the use of dogs to scare/torment these animals should also not be allowed. Thanks

I urge Ontario legislators to cancel the Spring Bear Hunt completely, and to not extend and expand the pilot project instituted by the previous Liberal government. Please, do not follow the wrong-headed and callous plan laid out by a previous government led by another party. Lire davantage

I do not agree with the Spring Bear hunt. furthermore, the length of time you permit for the hunting of bears is far too long. No other animal is hunted for that length of time. Keep the ban on bear hunting intact

I do not hunt because I am getting too old for that. I appreciate the spring bear hunt because it has cut down the number of bear raiding me apple trees. I used to get bears coming on my deck and breaking the branches. Last fall was the first time that it didn't happen. I do appreciate that. Lire davantage

Please get rid of the spring bear hunt. We do not need Americans with guns roaming around hunting bears. This is a small tourism niche that only benefits a few at the expense of hunting an animal for sport, in an unsportman like way. Lire davantage

It was stated that it was "unfair to hunt slow mothers with cubs fresh out of hibernation." In Nova Scotia, it is illegal to shoot a sow with cubs. I am uncertain the Ontario laws but surely there must be something similar? No ethical hunter would deliberately take a sow knowing it had cubs.

I strongly oppose the spring bear hunt. Hunting bears is cruel, unnecessary and should not be allowed. Countless bear cubs will be orphaned and will perish as a result. The use of hounds/dogs to chase, tree and/or otherwise harass bears should be immediately halted. Lire davantage

The time period is too early. Cubs will be left orphaned because while their mothers are foraging they are usually treed or hidden. Mothers don't wear a sign that says Mother with cubs. Baiting is EVIL! Animals should not be harassed by dogs or any other method.

Highway 400 creates a natural barrier between the Georgian Bay shoreline (GBS) and the interior to the east of the 400 and is mostly WMU 46. Deer and Bear are for the most part confined to WMU 46 because of this natural barrier of the 400. Lire davantage
