I am a Ontario resident of Eastern Ontario. All my life living in Ontario have enjoyed the forest and the wildlife in the Highlands, Algonquin Park, North Bay etc. The Boreal Forest is in need of protection from harvesting and we have managed this area for sustainability. Lire davantage

I found there was not a lot of explanation in terms of “how” everything will be accomplished. For example, there were a few statements about “reducing regulatory burdens for industry to access wood” and “reducing red tape”. Lire davantage

Your Forest Sector Strategy aspires to double the amount of logging in Ontario from 15 million to 30 million cubic metres of wood per year. The Boreal Forest is the largest intact forest on the planet which acts as a carbon shield, capturing and storing an enormous amount of carbon that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. We need to conserve it, not open it up for more development. Lire davantage
