Détails de la décision
Existing works at the site are for the collection, treatment and reuse of wash water from:
- a gravel washing plant
- storm water run-off
- concrete wash water cells
The gravel wash water, collected storm water run-off and concrete truck wash water is part of a closed loop system. The gravel wash plant recycles the spent wash water (as well as storm water and concrete cell water) by discharging the wash water to the settlement channel and then the water decants/filters through two settlement ponds and ultimately filtering/decanting into the holding pond.
The gravel wash plant and ready mix concrete facility is located in a basin as a result of the former gravel pit extraction. The gravel wash plant and ready mix concrete facility do not have an outlet so no gravel wash water, collected storm water or concrete truck wash water is discharged or allowed to flow from the property. Most wastewater is re-used at the site. The water from the gravel wash plant, storm water run-off and concrete cells (truck wash water) indirectly discharges to the environment through seepage into the groundwater.

Proposition initiale
Détails de la proposition
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for industrial sewage works for Lavis Contracting Co. Limited for the Benmiller pit aggregate (gravel) wash plant and ready mix concrete facility located at 80373 Benmiller Line, in the Town of Central Huron, Ontario.
This proposal is for the collection, treatment and reuse of wash water from:
The water from the gravel wash plant, storm water run-off and concrete cells (truck wash water) indirectly discharges to the environment through seepage (such as pond leakage) into the groundwater, however, most of the water is reused.
