Hello. I am a resident of Picton in Prince Edward County. I am concerned about deteriorating air quality and increases emissions of toxic chemicals in the region should the cement plant be allowed to burn alternative fuels like plastics.

While I understand that concrete is incredibly energy-intensive and I support the development of alternative fuels, it seems to me we should be encouraging the use of fuels that would result in less toxic chemical release into the atmosphere and residents’ lungs – not more.
