Good morning,
I live on Township Rd 12 in Bright, which is the same road that this gravel pit is located on. I'd like to know why I, as a tax-paying resident, was not informed of this application?
This permit request to increase the amount of tonnage they can take out of the pit is causing myself and the rest of the residents on this road considerable concern. We already have issues with trucks roaring up and down our road, ignoring the (newly lowered) speed limit, and making it dangerous to walk/bike on it, but now we're looking at the possibility of MORE trucks and even more damage to our quality of life. The trucks throw up dust and ruin the road. I've seen the Township grade the road at LEAST 7 or 8 times this year alone. I can't imagine the cost of all that work, but I imagine that my taxes are increased to cover it. Every time they grade the road, the dust is unbearable until such time that it's compacted again - we can't be in the front yard at all without choking on dust clouds. This could also have an impact on our property values, as no one would willingly live on a road that has these issues.
I sincerely hope the Ministry takes our concerns seriously. I look forward to your denial of this application.
