As a 5 month seasonal…

As a 5 month seasonal resident at Trout Lake, I am concerned regarding any proposal that will impact the environment of the area. I am concerned with any development that impacts our local roads as they were not meant for heavy usage . They are narrow, hilly and have many curves. Many drivers do not respect the speed limit and heavier traffic could lead to more accidents.

It is hard to consider the impact of the operation needing to take water from local lakes without knowing the volume required and the method of moving it. Past experience of water taken from Trout Lake up to 5/6 times per day was a bad experience. The trucks were hard on the road and because the road is so narrow it was unsafe for cyclists and pedestrians and certainly for children.

I will be following this development with great interest as I dont feel that further development of gravel pits or mines is advisable in this area. I do hope there will be further information coming if this proposal is approved.
