I believe it is undemocratic to increase the minster’s powers and allow the minister to circumvent zoning orders. This government has clearly already used MZOs to abuse their power to not consult the public—33 MZOs in fact. This is already shocking and exorbitant and I believe enhancing these powers will only continue to allow this government to circumvent democracy. As a society we have an obligation to each other, and squeezing in a tiny margin of affordable housing to these undemocratic developments does not serve enough of these people. It mostly serves the Ford government and his developer friends. Our government owes us more than that.
