This project should not move forward because the proposed location is a unique ecosystem where the world‘s only old growth red pine forest exists. There is intrinsic value in protecting natural amenities. In a part of the world where environmental degradation has been the main marker of reputation (Sudbury, Greater Sudbury), it is time now, in 2020, for Northeastern Ontario to recognize the value of this location and defend it by working towards its preservation, and not its exploitation.
