A truck can still run clean if well maintained without it. I have a pre and a post emission truck, and the pre emissions unit burns less fuel plain and simple. 3 to 4 % of trucks are down at any given time and a quarter of all repairs are emissions related. That is alot of lost time on the road and mechanics are expensive. Dont ruin Canadian trucking. If def gets accidentally put into a fuel tank it's a 15000 dollar repair, if fuel is accidentally put into a def system its 5 grand, if the 7000 dollar turbo let's go, it pretty much runs another 4 grand to fix the muffler after.
