Frankly, I'm ashamed to have to comment on these issues at all. Meat production facilities, livestock farms, and the meat/dairy/egg industry overall are one of the leading causes of this climate crisis we're presently in. Collectively, we should be shifting away from commodities that are contributing such mass amounts of greenhouse gases, water contamination, and overall environmental degradation. To continue on this trajectory and open this slaughterhouse is reckless.

This is from a purely environmental standpoint and without considering the unbelievable amount of animal suffering that will happen inside this building.

The empty words of multi-billion dollar companies who promise to follow 'welfare' regulations don't mean anything when 1) humane slaughter is an oxymoron, and 2) regardless of how the animals are treated, the environment is taking a major hit at the hand of these industries.
