I am a concerned resident of Downsview, a mother of two young kids, and my home is located on Deverell crescent. Over the last few years I have watched this pile of dirt turn into a mountain. A mountain that is clearly visible when driving down Anthony road as it is taller then some houses. I have been a resident in this home for 20 years and can say that dust that comes from this company has always been an unpleasant issue. However in the many years as a resident here I can attest to the significant increase in dust/residue that has been allowed to occur in the last few years, which is directly correlated to the increase in size of the mountain of dirt. It has gotten to the point where if we leave our windows open on a nice day we will have a layer of dirt/dust on everything in our home from kids toys, the dinning room table, bed sheets etc, and the dirt that accumulates on our things outside is absolutely appalling as well. This business’s lack of regard for following regulations has effected the every day lives of my family and the community. My biggest fear is learning that the air we have been breathing adjacent to this company is somehow unhealthy. Downsview has a changing urban landscape. I would hope that changes in laws and infrastructure will follow to help the community thrive in a heathy and harmonious way. We are living and breathing in this dust daily!
