This development is way too large . MNRF had made that same decision in about 2014 before the developer invited MNRF to get off the file. Just because the developer thinks it is uneconomic to build a smaller development is no excuse to allow the massive slaughter of endangered species especially in a Provincially Significant Wetland area.
The developer only got permission to build up to 180 units because they brought a quick court motion to remove MNRF from the approving authority in 2015 and in the same motion in 2015 submitted an old survey saying there had been 180 sites previously. The developer did not give the residents sufficient time to study and dispute that plan. There are many people who can confirm that there was NO development, not even tent sites in the northern third of the site…and the surveyor himself confirms it was not an “actual” plan but just a “proposed” one.
This developer seems to have no respect for the environment, the species in the park or the residents in the area that would be affected greatly by this huge mobile home park.
