I moved to the Rockcliffe-Smythe area in July 2018. One month later, my house got flooded because
of inadequate city sewage infrastructure. And now I'm finding out that St. Helen's Meat Packing and
Slaughter House Industry in the Stockyards/Junction North area has applied for approval to increase
their emissions of contaminants: emissions to the atmosphere including chlorine dioxide, lactic
acid, nitrogen oxides, noise, and odour.
I live in this area because I can't afford to live somewhere else in Toronto. This is a very
neglected area. Can we at least hope to be able to breathe some air of decent quality?
Please do not let them increase their emissions.
Thank you.
