Hello, I’m opposed to St. Helen’s Meat Packjnrg and Slaughter House Industry an increase in the emission of contaminants including chlorine dioxide, lactic acid, nitrogen oxide, noise and odour. I live in the area and the emissions already affect my quality of life in the neighbourhood. The smells are toxic and I can’t go for a walk or walk around Stockyards Village Mall while I do my shopping. The noise of the animals as they’re trucked in for slaughter in the morning is terrible. I’ve witnessed whole carcasses being moved by a crane like structure. The machines that strip the flesh off the skins are loud and the doors of that facility are already constantly open so that smells and noise can escape. This is no longer a neighbourhood that is suitable for this industry. Please do not allow an increase in emissions.
