1. This is a predominately residential neighbourhood with lots of young children 2. Asthma rates are higher than average in this area 3. We need to REDUCE pollutants, not increase them 4. There are numerous commercial businesses in this area that do not pollute, serve the neighbourhood, create employment & positive economic growth. They also depend on clean air to attract and retain business. In other words, do not fall for the argument that increasing pollution is a necessary evil to promoting economic growth in this neighbourhood. It’s absolutely not true, as these polluting types of businesses have for years REPRESSED economic growth in the neighbourhood.
