I do not think that at this time we should be allowing meat packers operating within the city to
increase their toxic emissions. This is the 2nd application by a meat packing facility in recent
months to increase their emissions. The factories are in close proximity to coop housing, low
income housing and residential buildings. There is a new condo devemlopment going up some 100
meters away from this plants location. We should be decreasing their toxic emmisions not
increasing them. They should be forced to relocate away from residential areas if they want to
increase their emissions. Also, both Ryding Regency and St Helen's Meat Packers have a none
history of violating city bylaws (driving down residential streets, parking their trucks in the
middle of public roads for extended periods of time leaving their trucks idling, allowing their
waste to spill over off of their property). Please do not allow these factories to increase their
emissions. It will have a lasting impact on the residents of the area for decades to come. The
Children who go to school and live near by should not have to grow up in an area of a city that
allows factories to pollute the air they breath.
