I am a cottager on Cranberry Lake and I am writing this letter to you in opposition of the proposed
granite quarry in the township of Dalton.
My reasons for protesting the quarry include: the air pollution that will be caused by the silica
dust quarry trucks will spread over the area, the quarry will harm the natural habitat of
endangered spotted turtles that make their homes in the area, and also the depletion of the water
table that will be caused by such a deep granite mine.
A quarry of this size will destroy the natural beauty of the landscape and cause huge amounts of
noise pollution driving away birds and other animals from the area.
Please consider the value of this area as a pristine wetland and reject the proposed quarry.
