I strongly feel that the placement of this quarry would be devastatingly destructive to the QE2 Wetlands Provincial Park. There are fewer and fewer wetlands left undisturbed by construction and / or human disruption, we simply cannot justify the creation of something that could be developed elsewhere. I realize the quarry is necessary, but the granite isn't rare, and it doesn't need to be taken from a site right adjacent to a wetlands park. The blasting would frighten all the birds and animals, the trucks and dust etc., would ruin the area. I truly hope this petition stops the development of this quarry in this location.
