Lower Hamilton is already burden with 1) a compromised air shed, 2) bad smells, 3) high transport and commercial truck traffic, and 4) a polluted water front. Revolution Landfill Acquisition GP Inc. proposes to include dewatered municipal biosolids as an acceptable waste class for receipt at a site supported by very good road and water access. A Waste Disposal Site at this location, particularly one that accepts biosolids, threatens to further stress all 4 conditions listed above. As well, the site is located approximately 20 meters from it's nearest residential neighbours. The adjacent neighbourhood will be very impacted by this project. Receiving the requested approval for the test site will make it significantly easier for Revolution Landfill Acquisition GP Inc. to later run a large full size Waste Disposal Plant at this site. The site is in a good position to receive waste, by land or water, from other communities in the Greater Horseshoe Area. This includes Ontario's largest city, Toronto. I believe, such a facility should be located away from residential populations. Revolution Landfill Acquisition GP Inc. has already demonstrated it's inability or unwillingness to protect the citizens of Hamilton from potential harm. In 2016, the company's Waste Processing Facility, on Imperial St., was fined $145,000 for separate incidents that released potential harmful gasses I ask the Minister and Ministry to protect the citizens of Hamilton and deny the requested amendment.
