Re EBR 012-9843 Carmeuse Lime (Canada) limited, a proposal to Add rescind or vary a conditon of
licence to amalgamate Licence no 2130 and 2136 impacting the area of 3 licensed sites under the
reference of 2136
While this action is purported to result in a decrease of annual production it remains unclear
what other impacts ( haulage roads, entrances, exits, daily number of trucks, rehabilitation etc
etc) be felt from such a change on widely expansive rural and urban areas.
In the light of the current landfill proposal controversy involving part of this site, such
substantial changes in site plan management of a highly complex industrial site demand a a more
detailed analysis from the proponent to be made available to the public as well as OMNR. Also to be
considered: have these licences been exemplary regarding past compliance? At the very least there
should be a longer period ( 90 days not 30) for public comment so that local ratepayers can
contribute fairly to OMNR' s decision making process as per its Misson Statement/ mandate.
I urge you to deny this proposal and restart the process to extend the comment period.
