Doubling the tonnage makes little environmental, economic or social sense. It needs to be turned
down. The environmental impacts of this license and those which it is proposed that it be
amalgamated with are already the subject of numerous Spills Line complaints. The fact is that rock
and gravel's prices have been fallen over the past decade so there is not an economic argument for
increased production. The community and the MOE are concerned about the plan to use some parts of
the amalgamated site as a dump. Will this open up all the properties to that? Without a clear plan,
some good maps, a huge bond, the public cannot be assured of this process.
The comment period is much too short. 90 days makes some sense; more makes more.
