Well - Last day to comment. I am surprised at how vigorous the MNRF and Carmeuse are defending these changes as "Not related to the landfill" when the same conditions that allowed a landfill to be considered as part of an interim rehabilitation process will be expanded if the various requests are approved. Although there some significant public opposition I am told, I have not witnessed anything in the media or the local council minutes that even discuss these requests for change by the 4 municipalities that were duly informed of the changes. Again I will restate - Why the rush - Lets wait until the landfill question is settled - HOWEVER - If the MNRF is choosing to defend that these changes have nothing to do with the landfill proposal then the MNRF and Carmeuse need to enshrine the appropriate wording in the changes that none of the lands or licences in question will be used for an expanded footprint of the proposed landfill (EVER) - Seems like a simple way to put some trust back in the Ministry and Carmeuse. Exasperatedly yours -
